Pilot Trainee Program

In Spring 2021, IATSE Local 849 members voted to introduce a "Schedule D" to our standard agreement that outlined a new Trainee Program.

An IATSE Local 849 Trainee is an entry-level position for prospective technicians interested in careers represented by the Union. The Program provides an opportunity for guided learning and on-the-job training with experienced Local 849 mentors. A trainee is placed for a specified period of time (typically 4-6 weeks with the possibility of extensions), in a specified department and is paid at a reduced trainee rate (ranging from $16-$17 per hour depending on the size of production). 

This program is new and still evolving - opportunities to place potential trainees are developing and highly seasonal, so please be patient if applying for a trainee position.
