Last year, Nova Scotia was the pilot site for the Canadian Operation Warm partnership, involving the Canadian I.A.T.S.E. office, all NS I.A.T.S.E. Locals, and a local elementary school. Due to its success, the initiative has expanded to St. John’s, NL, and Winnipeg, MB.
The IATSE and its members across Canada and the United States support the efforts of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists to secure a fair and equitable contract.

IATSE Local 849 continues to monitor developments as the spread of the COVID-19 virus impacts all of us in the screen industries in the Maritime provinces. At this time the union office will remain operational but due to health and safety concerns for our staff, the doors will be closed to the public.
